Update:

Really quickly, here is the idea behind the Arm/shoulder shown yesterday.
While this is a fairly rough sketch, I think it shows the basic idea. The "plan" (in parentheses because who knows what'll happen) is to use GW's dreadnought torso, hand, and feet in combination with 3D printed arms, legs and powerplant. Weapons will probably be some combination.

Also to note, the hexagonal plates shown in the middle of the arms below are there to be used as a base to mount the armor panels shown in the sketch. Hopefully this will also help to break up the low quality of the 3D printed arms.
I'll post the 3D designs for the legs and lower torso as soon as they're done, more updates to follow.

Hello all *two of you*

To add a somewhat different aspect to the blog, and in part because school's started back up, I've started a different project, this time...A DREADNOUGHT!

This will hopefully take the shape of a completed model soon, but for now here's a sneak peak of a prototype arm and shoulder.

Yes, these are 3D printed, and quality rather lacking. It is, however, a project.
As soon as I can find the sketchbook, I will post up where I believe this one is going.

Also hopefully I'll have more  Pics of the Super-Heavy soon as well!

Thanks for looking

So after what has been a 2 year hiatus from this blog, a time during which Games Workshop has discontinued the paint color for which this blog was named, I HAVE RETURNED.

Meanwhile the tank itself has gone through several evolutions, up until the bottom pic, which is unfortunately the best picture I have right now.

The first pic is its new frontal gun, which I designed and had 3D printed as a test project. I think it came out alright haha.

Hopefully more updates will follow in a more timely manner. To anyone out there, thanks for viewing!

Hey readers, (all 2 of you...)

Its been a while. Life's been busy. In the grand scheme of things though, progress has been made. The front plate assembly thing is basically done. All it needs is a few bits to break up the space. I also sketched what the sides will sort of look like. Looking at other SM vehicles, the current sides are too plain for something this big. Actually just plain in general. Anyway here are the pics, enjoy!

Here's the sketch, note that the turret doesn't sit as tall as shown.

As always, comments, suggestions and random thoughts are accepted, Thanks for viewing.

Hey all,

The updates to the project are small today, but you can start to see what it's going to look like. I had to take apart the earlier assault cannon mount (Below) because it was too low. The new one looks much better IMO. I also put together a moc-up of the tank so far, and a scale comparison pic.

(Old mount, above)
 (New Mount, above and below)
 (Moc-up)

The angle here doesn't quite do it justice, but you can see how much bigger the heavy is.

Unfortunately, that's all for today. Next I hope to have the front done, and start to detail the hull/superstructure.

Another (Few) day(s) another no new views... Whatever, I proceed undeterred.

Anyway, I've gone and done some major renovations to my SM superheavy. Mostly to the front, but there will eventually be a more detail for the whole tank. Right now though, It looks like a train wreck.

Above is a sketch of what I'd sorta like the new front to look

Unfortunately, In order to do this new front, I had to take apart the whole thing.

How come inspiration never hits you before you go and build the thing?

The assault cannons will swivel when it's done too... Hopefully.

The inspiration for the front may be obvious to some, but for those of you who have never seen the FW Achilles, here it is:

I've done it, finally making the first post to this almost year old blog. I suppose some background is needed, blah, blah, blah...

-I PAINT AND BUILD 40k models, and have never played an actual game. This gives me a lot of freedom to make conversions and scratch-builds that would never be game legal, but look good, etc. Don't look for models that are codex, game legal, or fluff perfect.

-I actually do pay attention to the "fluff" behind the game, and will try to create a backstory for any scratch-built models. It won't please many of you anal fluff lovers, but hey, something is better than nothing. Feel free to comment on something if it bothers you though.

-At this point, all the painting and conversion being done is Space Marine based. Basically, I'm creating a chapter of marines that aren't entirely "codex". A sort of renegade chapter still loyal to the Imperium, loosely based on the Cachardons's chapter from the Badab War in Imperial Armor.

Not that you care... this is what, the millionth blog of its type?

Here's the good stuff (IMHO).

WIP SM Super-Heavy

(approx 1.5x Baneblade in length and width)

(Undergoing major surgery ATM, I decided that the front needed to be fixed. Comments? Suggestions?)

WIP Marine
This is the basic scheme for the chapter. The only things left are applying FW (Forgeworld) weathering powder (Fresh Mud, to continue the rained on, muddy look) and basing.

That is all for now. Expect some updates in the near(ish) future.
